New to drug testing: Client forum

Week #21

Image of Oral-EzeIn my last post, I mentioned that one of my responsibilities is to help organize our attendance at industry conferences and tradeshows. I also help to plan and execute our company-hosted business meetings and events. Last week, we hosted our first Oral Fluid Client Forum. Several of our Oral-Eze® clients met at our Lenexa, Kansas laboratory to provide feedback on our product, share best practices, discuss their needs and to offer input into future product enhancements.

During this two-day event, we discussed everything from product development to regulatory updates. Attendees also expressed their thoughts around what works well and what needs to be improved. Our 24-hour turnaround time for negative results and our state of the art laboratory were highly commended.

We recently achieved a significant milestone in that we processed the one-millionth Oral-Eze drug test. Our client forum attendees, whose drug testing programs helped us to achieve this milestone, expressed to us that Oral-Eze is a good product; however, like all products, there is room for improvement. And that’s why we took the time to listen to our clients and to discuss their needs – so that we can make the next million tests even better than the first.

As a new employee at Quest Diagnostics, there’s hardly a day that goes by that I don’t learn something new about the world of drug testing. Like some of you, I have a lot to learn about the industry. During my first year of employment, I’m going to write this weekly column highlighting drug testing procedures, products and processes as I discover them. To learn more about my journey, you can read my introductory post.
