NLCP guidance on invalid specimens

During the second half of 2017, HHS-certified laboratories noted an increase in the number of urine drug test specimens that were reported as invalid. The spike in invalid results is being reviewed and may be related to donors using synthetic urine products.

We have been asked to provide this information to certifying scientists, medical review officers, and collectors. For more information, please review the full notice from the National Laboratory Certification Program (NLCP).

Review the Mandatory Guidelines for Federal Workplace Drug Testing Programs on the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) website.
